Side Hustles

I’ve been thinking a lot recently about what sets the dreamers apart from the doers. Gary Vaynerchuk talks about maximising our time and not using being time poor as an excuse - what could we all actually get done if we swapped sofa surfing (one of my guilty pleasures) for building a new venture?

Well… you could start a new gin company.

Neighbours Delano and Brad bonded over a love of gin, so much so that they bought a still and started distilling their own during lockdown.

When I first met the team to discuss the brand they described it as their side hustle. I love that phrase! So many people have a side hustle in their mind if not actually in reality. Turning a side hustle into a business is a leap of faith and bold. For me, helping clients to bring their projects to life and create a brand that is the vision they have carried in their minds eye is the most rewarding part of what I do.

And what a side hustle Batts Hill is. An exciting new gin with a fab story behind the brand and how it was born. This project was a dream come true for me and has been such a joy to work on - the whole team secretly working away during lockdown to bring it to life.

Batts Hill Gin is a Surrey Dry Gin created by neighbours. It’s a taste of their friendship. And they are friends who have what sets the dreamers apart from the doers. They took those baby steps to bring their vision to life - one evening at a time, one stolen meeting with the kids running around at a time.

The beautiful illustration is by Lucinda Kidney and the logo and design by Byrne Creative. This gorgeous, botanical brand will evolve as it grows and expands. Keep an eye out for bottles out in the wild and tag us when you see one!
